How did we get here?

I started this blog back before I started running and clearly I have neglected updating. So, let me try that first:

1) Oh, Jillian Micheals... Her 30-day shred DVD was great until I got to level 2. Some where in there with those lunges, I screwed up my left knee. I stopped the DVD completely and iced, iced, iced.

2) I started running on May 30th with the Whitby Running Room. I was in the Learn to Run program. That first clinic day we did 1:2 intervals, as in 1 minute running, 2 minutes walking. I admit that I was huffing and puffing my way through. Wow, I was really out of shape. Quitting was a permanent thought in my sweaty head.

3) I also started seeing Scott, my physiotherapist. I don't know what I did to my knee but I needed it gone. Luckily, he has been a life saver.

4) I actually stuck with the LTR clinic and ended up running my first ever 5K race on July 23, 2011. More about this in a different post.

5) With my adrenaline pumping, I signed up for the 5K clinic. I had several more moments of thinking WTF am I doing? I'm not a runner. Well, guess what - I finished that clinic last week and by some slight insanity, I just started the 10K clinic.

Now here I am, almost 5 months later, attempting to run 10K in December.
